Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Workers' Compensation and or Employment Attorney with 4–5 years of legal experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have solid litigation experience, strong legal research and writing skills, and a passion for advocating for clients in complex workplace matters. This role involves managing a caseload, advising clients, and advocating effectively in administrative and court settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of workers' compensation and employment law matters from intake through resolution.
- Represent clients in hearings before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB), Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and other forums.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and provide sound case strategy and advice.
- Communicate and strategize with clients, opposing counsel, and administrative judges.
- Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
- Prepare for and conduct depositions, hearings, and trials as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active California Bar membership in good standing.
- 4–5 years of experience in workers' compensation and employment law litigation.
- Strong litigation and case management skills.
- Excellent analytical, research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work with professionalism and accuracy.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with WCAB, DFEH, EEOC, or State/Federal court proceedings.
- Familiarity with California labor and employment statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Strong negotiation and client counseling skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $115,000 – $150,000 annually (DOE)
