Dykema's Intellectual Property Group seeks a IP Litigation Associate with 3–4 years of experience. This role is focused on patent and other intellectual property litigation in federal court and involves all phases of litigation, from pleadings through dispositive motions and trial preparation. Qualified candidates should have at least two years of law firm experience handling intellectual property litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, managing discovery, and working with experts. Experience litigating matters in federal court is strongly preferred. Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is desirable, as is some familiarity with patent prosecution, including the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Experience with a variety of technical areas, including mechanical, electromechanical, software, and/or electrical inventions, is preferred. The work may also include advising clients on clearance, validity, infringement, and enforcement of patent and other intellectual property rights. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral advocacy skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines. This position is open in Dykema's Austin, San Antonio, Chicago, Bloomfield Hills, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC offices. Please indicate your office of interest in the cover letter. Admission to the State Bar or the ability to immediately waive in is required. For applicants in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., the expected salary for this position is $170,000 to $195,000, based on 2–5 years of experience and individual skills and qualifications.
