About the Job:We are seeking an energetic and driven Associate Attorney to join our Workers' Compensation team. This role requires prior experience handling workers' compensation cases, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload and advocate effectively for injured workers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a collaborative environment while being committed to delivering outstanding client service.
Responsibilities:
- Manage workers' compensation cases from intake through resolution
- Evaluate potential claims and provide sound legal advice to clients
- Draft, review, and file petitions, motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents specific to workers' compensation matters
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies in line with state workers' compensation laws and regulations
- Communicate with clients, treating physicians, vocational experts, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives to gather and exchange information
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediations, hearings, depositions, and trials before the Workers' Compensation Commission
- Maintain accurate documentation and update case status in the case management system
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active state bar membership required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience handling workers' compensation or personal injury cases (plaintiff-side preferred)
- Preference given to bilingual candidates
- Strong client-facing experience in any field; ability to communicate clearly with our clients is a must
- Case management skills including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple clients, projects and deadlines
- Preferential consideration for deposition, hearing and mediation experience
- Superior organization skills with great follow through
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
