Responsibilities:
Job Purpose:
To provide legal advice to the Company and its deal teams in relation to the Company's real estate and other transactions, including by preparing and negotiating land and facility control documents, analyzing legal issues for title and survey matters, preparing and negotiating curative documentation to resolve title insurance coverage matters, providing legal review and analysis on other transactions as needed. Working with developers and other Company counsel to resolve all types of real estate issues and obtaining required internal approvals for real estate transactions.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Reviews, drafts and negotiates real estate agreements for transmission, solar, BESS and wind facilities (including the Company's form agreements) to ensure the Company's land control and other property rights are protected and enforceable.
  • Assists and coordinates with AGC, Real Estate, to adhere to the company's acceptable terms for real estate agreements.
  • Advises developers and coordinates with landowner's and investment partners' counsel to resolve legal issues that arise for transmission, solar, BESS and wind projects.
  • Consults with local counsel on state real estate law issues to ensure compliance of real estate agreement with state law.
  • Researches various states' real estate laws as needed on specific issues.
  • Reviews various land-related permits, advising development on terms, and negotiating with counterparties where appropriate

Qualifications:
Experience/Qualifications/Education Required
Law degree and licensure in at least one state with at least 5 years of experience as a real estate attorney, including legal experience with project finance, project development and project management transactions. Prior AmLaw 200 law firm or established in-house legal department experience is preferred.

The expected starting pay range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern's compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
