Summary Of The Role:
The successful candidate will provide legal support for a high volume of procurement and commercial contracting activities. The successful candidate will ensure the Company remains in compliance with applicable laws and internal standards, mitigate legal risks in executing contracting strategies, and partner with cross-functional teams to enable successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate procurement and commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, professional services agreements, purchase orders, engineering, procurement and construction agreements, operational agreements, and consultancy agreements. Demonstrate the ability to manage contractual matters end-to-end.
  • Advise business units on legal risks, compliance requirements, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Commercial, Engineering & Construction, Operations, and corporate teams to ensure timely and compliant contract execution and process management. There is a high degree of collaboration internally, with potential for mentoring of contracts managers.
  • Manage claims and disputes, providing strategic guidance to minimize exposure.
  • Support development of contracting policies and templates to streamline processes.

Education, Skills, Experience, & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of general contract law, with particular experience in procurement.
  • Ability to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong relationships and commercial objectives.
  • Proactive identification and mitigation of legal and compliance risks, and comfortable with operating with evolving processes
  • Effective partnership with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication.
  • Education: J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing.
  • 4 to 7 years in legal roles, with LNG or large-scale energy sector project development experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage complex contracts and advise on compliance.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
