Description:
Impact:As our Settlement Attorney, you will take cases across the finish line, finalizing settlement agreements once our attorneys have already reached terms with opposing counsel, so the growing number of Californians we represent see their resolutions closed out accurately and on time.
Daily Tasks:
- Draft and finalize settlement agreements once the responsible attorney has reached agreement on terms with opposing counsel
- Correspond directly with opposing/closing counsel to finalize language and paperwork on terms that have already been agreed upon
- Manage final accounting and disbursement statements for settled cases
- Track settlement files through signature, funding, and closing
- Flag any terms that fall outside what was originally agreed upon to the responsible attorney
- Prioritize and complete a high volume of closing files in a timely and efficient manner
- Bring a team-oriented and positive attitude to our Los Angeles office
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with agreement drafting and document review
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Superior time management and multi-tasking skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter
- Prior settlement, transactional, or post-litigation experience is a plus, but not required
- Employment law background is a plus but not required; we will train on our case types
- Salary: $120,000 - $130,000/year, depending on experience
