We are hiring a trial lawyer. Not a litigator who settles everything - a lawyer who has stood up, picked a jury, and taken a verdict.

About the Firm:
Hartounian, APLC is a plaintiff-side personal injury boutique based in Glendale, trying cases across Southern California: auto, motorcycle, and truck collisions, premises liability, dog bites. We run a steady docket of litigated cases built on a multilingual client base - English, Armenian, Spanish, Farsi, Russian - that most firms cannot reach.

Our ambition is simple: to become the firm defense counsel warns their carriers about. This hire is the cornerstone of that project.

The Role:
Senior Trial Counsel. You run your own litigation docket end to end and make the strategy calls on your files. Direct line to the principal. No committees, no layers, no mill.

You Will:

First chair jury trials across Southern California
Own cases from filing through verdict: pleadings, discovery, depositions, law and motion, expert workup, trial
Make the calls on strategy, valuation, and trial posture
Work directly with the principal on case selection and which cases we try

What we are looking for:

15+ years of civil litigation experience
Jury trials taken to verdict as first chair (we will ask about them)
California Bar license, active and in good standing
The judgment to run a docket independently and the appetite to try the cases that should be tried
Former insurance defense trial counsel are expressly welcome. You spent a career learning how carriers evaluate, reserve, and defend cases. Somewhere along the way, the work became reports to adjusters. Here, you pick the jury.

What we offer:

Cases funded properly: experts, focus groups, exhibits. You will never be asked to try a case on the cheap.
Base salary of $200,000 - $300,000 depending on experience, plus meaningful participation in the fees on cases you try. If you take verdicts, you share in them.
