Description:
A well-established insurance defense firm is seeking a seasoned Associate Attorney with 4–10 years of experience to join our New York City or New Jersey office. This role is specifically for attorneys with prior insurance defense experience, with a strong background in General Liability (GL), construction, and automobile liability matters.This position offers substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to handle complex, high-exposure cases in a collaborative and professional environment.
In addition, the firm will conduct structured, in-person training beginning in March, designed to further develop litigation strategy, case management skills, and courtroom effectiveness to ensure continued professional growth and success in the role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of GL, construction, and auto liability defense matters from inception through trial or resolution
- Conduct and defend depositions, including expert depositions
- Draft and argue dispositive motions
- Handle court appearances, conferences, and mediations
- Provide coverage analysis and litigation strategy recommendations to carriers
- Maintain regular communication with insurance clients and provide detailed reporting
Qualifications:
- 4–10 years of prior insurance defense experience (required)
- Demonstrated experience handling General Liability, construction, and auto claims (required)
- Admitted to practice in New York and/or New Jersey
- Strong litigation, deposition, and motion practice experience
- Excellent writing, analytical, and case management skills
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload
