Description:
We are an established immigration law firm with offices throughout California. Our practice emphasizes high-quality legal advocacy, thoughtful litigation strategy, and compassionate representation for immigrant communities. The chosen candidate will be required to:- Handle Master Calendar and Individual (Merits) Hearings
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff .
- Craft and litigate motions to reopen, reconsider, terminate, and other post-order relief
- Prepare and file appeals and briefs before the BIA
- Conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal memoranda
- Analyze FOIA responses and develop litigation strategies
- Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings .
- Appear at USCIS interviews when required
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license and good standing with a U.S. state bar (California preferred)
- Minimum 2-3 years of removal defense experience required and general immigration experience
- Strong motion and appellate writing skills
- Spanish fluency (spoken and written) required to serve Spanish-speaking clientele
- Able to work independently.
- Able to travel on an occasional basis.
- Able to be in-person at the office in the location above mentioned.
- Mandamus actions in federal district court
- Habeas corpus petitions
- Post-conviction relief in criminal court
- Prior federal litigation or government experience
- Probate/Family court for predicate SIJS orders
