Description:

We are an established immigration law firm with offices throughout California. Our practice emphasizes high-quality legal advocacy, thoughtful litigation strategy, and compassionate representation for immigrant communities. The chosen candidate will be required to:
  • Handle Master Calendar and Individual (Merits) Hearings
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff .
  • Craft and litigate motions to reopen, reconsider, terminate, and other post-order relief
  • Prepare and file appeals and briefs before the BIA
  • Conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal memoranda
  • Analyze FOIA responses and develop litigation strategies
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings .
  • Appear at USCIS interviews when required

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license and good standing with a U.S. state bar (California preferred)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of removal defense experience required and general immigration experience
  • Strong motion and appellate writing skills
  • Spanish fluency (spoken and written) required to serve Spanish-speaking clientele
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to travel on an occasional basis.
  • Able to be in-person at the office in the location above mentioned.

Preferred / Plus Experience (Not Required)

  • Mandamus actions in federal district court
  • Habeas corpus petitions
  • Post-conviction relief in criminal court
  • Prior federal litigation or government experience
  • Probate/Family court for predicate SIJS orders
