Job Description:We are looking for an attorney with two to three years of transactional experience in the music business, who is passionate about the business of music, entertainment, and issues facing global icons and brands. We want someone who can plug directly in and run relatively independently on music clearances, and also someone who has interest in asset purchase agreements (catalogue sales) in the music business. This is a unique hybrid opportunity to work on sophisticated entertainment financing and corporate transactions as well as day-to-day talent and production matters involved in the creation and distribution of intellectual property. We are seeking someone who can think critically, is willing to work hard, learn, grow, and contribute and problem-solve creatively. What You'll Do:
- Review and coordinate preparation of comments in connection with standard third-party participant agreements for compositions and recorded music
- Third-party participant agreements: producer agreements, mixer agreements, featured artist agreements, letters of direction, certificates of recording, songwriter agreements, etc.
- Draft and coordinate revision of standard third-party participant agreements as well as other basic agreements in music, entertainment and adjacent fields (including publicity and interview releases)
- Be a significant member of a team that drafts, manages and negotiates high value asset purchase agreements in music
- Participate in sophisticated corporate and financing transactions focused in the ever-evolving entertainment space
- Work in teams with other associates, partners, consultants and professionals
- Further develop critical thinking and strategy in the world of intellectual property

- Someone with two to three years of experience in the music business
- Someone who is passionate about helping recording artists fulfill their visions and who is eager to learn
- Proactive self-starter with a “can do” mindset
- Experience with or interest in catalog sales and acquisitions
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- California Bar membership in good standing
US Pay Range
$150,000—$170,000 USD
