Chavez & Valko LLP, a full-service immigration law firm recognized in the 2025 edition of Best Law Firms® in the United States, is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join our Dallas and Fort Worth offices. Our diverse team handles a broad range of immigration matters, from routine filings to complex litigation, with an unwavering focus on client outcomes.

The Role:
The attorney will primarily handle immigration litigation and family-based immigration matters. Litigation work includes removal defense before EOIR, federal court litigation, including mandamus and APA actions, and BIA and circuit court appeals.

Location: Based in either our Dallas or Fort Worth office.

Responsibilities include:
  • Consulting with clients and conducting case assessments
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals
  • Preparing support letters, declarations, and immigration forms
  • Reviewing filings prepared by support staff
  • Representing clients at hearings, master calendars, and USCIS interviews
  • Communicating with EOIR, USCIS, ICE, DOS, and other government agencies
  • Supervising paralegals and legal assistants assigned to your caseload
  • Participating in firm-led community outreach and educational programs

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Minimum two years of immigration law practice
  • Substantive experience with removal defense/federal litigation, plus adjustment of status, waivers, and consular processing
  • Admission and good standing in any U.S. state bar
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical reasoning, and case management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines in a high-volume practice

Preferred:
  • Spanish fluency (written and spoken)
  • Law review, law journal, or immigration clinic experience
  • Prior EOIR or federal court appearances

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: $75,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience
