About the role:We are a boutique family law and immigration firm looking for an experienced Immigration Attorney to lead our immigration practice. You will manage an active caseload, maintain established referral relationships, and grow the firm's immigration pipeline. This is not a document-review role — you will be the lead attorney on immigration matters from day one.
Compensation & Benefits:
$80,000 base salary
Origination bonus: percentage of fees on cases you bring to the firm (earning potential $100K+)

Responsibilities:
- Lead attorney on asylum, removal defense, family immigration, and citizenship matters
- Appear in immigration court, USCIS interviews, and administrative proceedings
- Prepare and file petitions, applications, motions, and supporting documentation
- Conduct client consultations and convert prospective clients
- Maintain and grow referral relationships including detention center networks
- Collaborate with firm paralegal and administrative staff
- Maintain accurate billing and case notes in Clio
- Participate in business development and networking
- Additional duties as required by the firm
Requirements:
- Active New Jersey bar admission — required, no exceptions
- Minimum 2 years of immigration law experience
- Experience with asylum, removal defense, family immigration petitions, and/or naturalization
- Strong legal writing, research, and organizational skills
- Client-centered approach with the ability to work with vulnerable populations
- Self-starter who can manage a caseload independently
Preferred:
- Family law experience (divorce, custody, support)
- Bilingual — any second language strongly preferred given our client
base
