Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of general liability matters from inception through resolution, including trial
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Develop and execute litigation strategies in coordination with senior attorneys and clients
- Communicate regularly with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel
- Analyze evidence, review discovery materials, and prepare case evaluations and reports
- Negotiate settlements and manage case resolutions efficiently
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active New York State Bar admission in good standing
- 2+ years of experience in general liability/insurance defense
- Strong knowledge of New York civil procedure and tort law
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused, professional demeanor
