Miller, Leiby & Associates, P.C. is a well-established New York law firm with offices in Manhattan's Financial District. Our insurance defense practice represents insureds and self-insured entities in premises liability and automobile defense matters. We are looking for an experienced litigator who wants real ownership of a caseload, not a seat at the back of the conference room.The Role:
You will manage your own docket of defense cases from start to finish, with the independence to make strategic decisions and the client contact to build lasting relationships. Your work will include:
- Managing a full caseload with a high degree of autonomy
- Regular, direct communication with clients and insurance carriers
- Drafting and arguing motions
- Taking and defending depositions
- Representing clients at mediations and settlement conferences
- Handling appeals
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in the State of New York
- At least two (2) years of experience defending premises liability cases, automobile bodily injury cases, or both
- Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Confidence in the courtroom and comfort working with clients and adjusters
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters independently
