About Us:We are seeking an experienced Of Counsel for Civil Litigation to assist with project-based assignments. The ideal candidate is experienced and willing to run interpedently.
Responsibilities:
The Of Counsel Litigation Attorney will be comfortable interpedently running
- Case assessment and litigation strategy;
- Drafting pleadings, answers, certifications, motions, cross-motions, briefs, discovery demands, discovery responses, subpoenas, and settlement communications;
- Reviewing and analyzing court filings, correspondence, documentary evidence, text messages, emails, financial records, and witness materials;
- Preparing clients and witnesses for conferences, depositions, hearings, and trial testimony;
- Conducting legal research and applying New Jersey procedural and substantive law;
- Appearing at court conferences, motion hearings, case management conferences, settlement conferences, and evidentiary hearings;
- Negotiating practical resolutions and settlement structures;
- Managing matters efficiently with sensitivity to client budget and case value;
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania;
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience preferred;
- Strong drafting, research, and oral advocacy skills;
- Experience handling motion practice and contested hearings;
- Ability to work independently and meet court deadlines;
- Good judgment in balancing litigation strategy, settlement leverage, and client cost
- Professional liability insurance or willingness to confirm coverage arrangements before engagement;
- No disciplinary history that would prevent representation or of-counsel association.
Compensation:
Compensation is hourly and based on experience, subject matter expertise, and scope of work. Please provide:
- Your hourly rate;
- Retainer requirements, if any;
- Availability for limited-scope assignments;
- Availability for court appearances;
- Whether you are open to phased budgets or capped-fee projects for defined tasks.
