Description of Work: The Securities Division Is Seeking an Attorney I – Enforcement Attorney to Render Legal Advice and Counsel on Complex and Novel Issues to The Agency. the Major Functions of This Position Is Evaluating and Litigating Cases Within Our Enforcement Section. the Position Requires an Experienced Attorney to Investigate and Enforce the North Carolina Securities Act (n.C.G.S. Chapter 78 A), the North Carolina Investment Advisers Act, Including the Uniform Athlete Agents Act (n.C.G.S. Chapter 78 C), the North Carolina Commodities Act (n.C.G.S. Chapter 78 D) and Other Statutes Under the Authority of The Secretary of State.
This Attorney Works with Significant Independence and Must Be Able to Conduct, Manage And/or Guide Securities and Other Financial Fraud Investigations. the Major Functions of This Position Involve Administrative Hearings, Criminal Prosecution, Trial Litigation, Pre-Trial and Trial Responsibilities, as Well as Administrative Rule-Making Duties. This Attorney May Act as A Liaison on Securities Administrative Issues with Other State Regulators, Attorneys, and Industry Leaders.

- This Position May Require Occasional In-State and Out-Of-State Travel for Training, Seminars, Court Appearances or Conferences.
- This Position May Be Eligible for An Alternate Worksite Arrangement in Accordance with The Secretary of State's Teleworking Policy, but Must Permanently Reside Within 50 Miles from The Securities Division Office in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- Salary Determination Is Based upon The Candidate's Education and Experience Related to The Position, as Well as Departmental Budget and Equity Considerations.
