Position Overview:
An American Law Firm is seeking a mid-level associate (3-5 years' experience) to join its premier, globally recognized Digital Assets and Data Management ("DADM") Group. The candidate would work with some of the largest and well-known companies across a broad range of industries. As a member of the DADM Group's Privacy Governance and Technology Transactions Team, the candidate will join a national team that counsels clients on how to reduce or eliminate risk through rigorous review of policies that may pose privacy and security risks. The associate will have an opportunity to work on a wide range of privacy compliance matters with an emphasis on U.S. state privacy law compliance, including CCPA and other state privacy law readiness, drafting privacy notices, advising on cookie and website compliance, counseling on compliant data use initiatives, and supporting DPA reviews and negotiations. Experience with global privacy laws and health privacy laws is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications include:
  • Law firm or in-house experience providing proactive privacy compliance advice on CCPA and other state privacy laws; GDPR and HIPAA experience preferred
  • Am Law 100 experience
  • A strong academic record, having earned a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited school
  • Must be admitted to practice law in the state of desired office location
