Associate Attorney (Litigation) - Your Job Duties
You will work as part of a closely knit team, with the support of legal staff. Your practice will be focused on handling cases involving Real Property claims, Employment disputes, Fraud, Corporate Disputes, Construction Matters, Trade Secret Matters, and other civil disputes.
- Conduct research and prepare legal documents (pleadings, motions, briefs)
- Draft and review initial pleadings, including complaints, answers, and counterclaims
- Handle all aspects of the discovery process (requests, depositions)
- Formulate and respond to written discovery requests (interrogatories, requests for production of documents, requests for admission)
- Contribute to case strategy and analyze legal issues
- Court hearings and appearances
- Assist in all phases of trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and drafting trial briefs
- Effectively manage client & opposing counsel communication
- Participate in settlement discussions and negotiations
- Understand court rules and manage document filings
You Have:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school
- Good standing and can practice law in the state of California
- You might have demonstrated success in prior litigation matters, showcasing effective case handling and positive outcomes
- A genuine enthusiasm and passion for the practice of law and a strong commitment to achieving the best results for clients through aggressive and practical lawyering
- The ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and focus on activities that contribute to successful case resolution and firm profitability
- A proven ability to work effectively with colleagues, build strong professional relationships, and contribute to a positive, drama-free work environment
- Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, fostering trust and confidence among teammates and firm leadership
- A self-motivated and goal-oriented approach to work with a track record of meeting billable hour expectations (1800 billable hours requirement with a portion to be used for Business Development)
Associate Attorney (Litigation) – Benefits For you:
You will have your own office and share a dedicated assistant to support you.
Your base Salary will be between $110,000 – $155,000 per year + bonus potential based on origination fees (15% of net profit from origination paid to attorney) and billable hour efficiency (up to $20,000 additional annual compensation for hitting target)
