Description:Porter Scott is looking for passionate and ambitious law school graduates awaiting bar results to join our team as Attorneys in Waiting. At Porter Scott, we believe in early responsibility, strong mentorship, and a collaborative culture where new attorneys are encouraged to grow and thrive.
From the beginning, our Attorneys in Waiting are immersed in the full scope of litigation—discovery, motions, alternative dispute resolution, and trial work—in both state and federal court. You won't be tucked away in the background; instead, you will gain real experience, work closely with seasoned attorneys, and contribute meaningfully to challenging and complex cases. Our environment is fast-paced and demanding, but it is also collegial, supportive, and deeply rewarding.
We are seeking graduates who bring curiosity, initiative, and excellent writing and oral advocacy skills. In return, we offer the opportunity to learn by doing, guided by mentors who are invested in your professional development.
Porter Scott offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package. This includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; a Section 125 flexible spending account; long-term disability and life insurance; and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions. After six months of employment, the firm contributes a percentage of your annual compensation to your 401(k) plan, regardless of your own contributions. Additionally, the firm provides a match for employee contributions each year. Benefits become effective on the first day of the month following your date of hire. In addition, the firm provides a generous paid time off (PTO) allowance to support work-life balance and employee well-being.
This is a full-time, paid post-bar position with a starting salary of $80,000. Once sworn in as a licensed attorney, the salary increases automatically to $110,000.
Porter Scott is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing an environment where every employee feels valued and supported. We comply with all applicable federal and state laws with respect to fair employment practices, and we provide reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees as needed.
