Applicants must have a minimum of six (6) months of hands-on paralegal experience handling personal injury cases. Applications that do not meet this requirement will not be considered.We are a New York–based plaintiff-side personal injury law firm seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, hands-on litigation experience, and close mentorship in a small-firm environment.
You will manage an assigned caseload and work directly with the firm's principal attorney and paralegal on matters involving personal injury cases. The ideal candidate is practical, organized, inquisitive, and eager to develop strong litigation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an assigned caseload from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and prepare cases for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
- Take and defend depositions, including plaintiff depositions
- Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and motion practice as needed
- Communicate with clients regarding case strategy, status, and resolution options
- Collaborate closely with the supervising attorney and paralegal to move cases efficiently
- Maintain organized and up-to-date case files
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation preferred
- Admitted to practice in New York and in good standing
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery; deposition experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Self-starter with a desire to learn, take ownership of cases, and grow as a litigator
Compensation:
$80,000 - $105,000 per year
