This opportunity is for a motivated associate attorney to join our client-centric Firm's Dependency and Neglect practice area (also known as "child welfare" or "child protection" cases), representing respondent parents. These are not Domestic/Divorce cases in the Family Court, but representation of parents with cases filed against them by Department of Human Services. Attorney would work in Uptown Office in Denver and can work virtually as well. The attorney would primarily represent clients in the Adams County courthouse through the Office of Parents Respondent Counsel practicing public interest law. The Firm also has a civil rights and criminal defense litigation practice; associate attorney may have opportunities for criminal defense and civil rights work.

Successful Candidates:
  • Are licensed to practice in Colorado
  • Are motivated to protecting the fundamental right to parent.
  • Are personable and demonstrate empathy.
  • Are self-motivated and very organized.
  • Are competent and trustworthy and can run his/her caseload with little supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Posses good court and trial skills and/or are willing to learn litigation and advocacy skills
  • Can provide high quality customer service and a client-centered approach to all clients

Position is full-time.
