Description:
Responsiblities / Duties:- Partner with local school boards to offer legal guidance and protection.
- Advise school boards & administrators on a range of matters including staff relations, pupil rights and obligations, IDEA and Section 504 compliance, school construction, contract procurement, state audits, and many other issues.
- Offer clients broad support in related areas such as employment and environmental law.
- Conduct training sessions.
- Attendance at school boards meetings.
- Draft board contracts and other documents.
- Representation of the board in litigation before New Jersey courts, the New Jersey Commissioner of Education, the New Jersey Public Employee Relations Commission and other administrative agencies.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to New Jersey Bar.
- Minimum of 1-year legal practice in education law, preferred, with a thorough knowledge of New Jersey Education laws.
- Demonstrated skills in advocacy, mediation, and interviewing.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work in a deadline driven practice, required.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software programs.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
