Responsibilities:
- Manage a workers' compensation caseload from inception through resolution in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Navigate and file in the Workers' Compensation Court system in NJ and PA, including appearances before judges and administrative tribunals.
- Draft and file Petitions, Motions, briefs, and other court documents with accuracy and efficiency.
- Schedule and prepare for permanency evaluations, depositions, and hearings, including preparation of all required supporting documentation.
- Represent clients at all stages of the workers' compensation process, including mediations, hearings, and settlements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
- Handle client concerns and inquiries as they pertain to the status and progression of their cases.
- Gather, review, and analyze medical records, billing, and lien documentation as required.
- Utilize Filevine case management software and Outlook to maintain organized, current, and complete case files.
- Prioritize client communication by maintaining regular, proactive contact to ensure clients feel heard, supported, and adequately represented throughout the duration of their case.
- Manage cases efficiently through the full workers' compensation process, ensuring timely progression at every stage.
- Stay current on developments in New Jersey and Pennsylvania workers' compensation law and procedure.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school required.
- Active bar admission in New Jersey required; Pennsylvania bar admission is a strong plus.
- A minimum of three years of workers' compensation experience in a law firm setting required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an active litigation caseload independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience arguing before administrative tribunals or courts.
- High-level organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal case management software; experience with Filevine is preferred.
