Position Overview:
We are growing—and looking for a skilled, driven Workers' Compensation Attorney who is ready to take ownership of cases, advocate fiercely for injured workers, and contribute to a high-performing team.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead workers' compensation cases from intake through resolution or trial before the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court
  • Conduct detailed case investigations and develop strong medical and vocational evidence
  • Draft and file petitions, motions, briefs, and legal documents advocating for injured workers' rights
  • Negotiate strategically with insurance carriers and defense counsel to maximize client benefits
  • Prepare for and represent clients at hearings and trials when necessary
  • Develop case strategies tailored to secure maximum compensation including medical treatment, disability benefits, and vocational rehabilitation
  • Challenge claim denials, benefit terminations, and inadequate settlement offers
  • Coordinate with medical providers, vocational experts, and other professionals to build compelling cases
  • Stay current on Nebraska Workers' Compensation Act updates, case law, and regulatory changes
  • Mentor and support junior attorneys and legal staff
  • Contribute to client experience and firm growth initiatives

What you bring:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Nebraska
  • 3–5+ years of workers' compensation litigation experience
  • Proven ability to drive strong case results and settlements against insurance carriers
  • Excellent written, oral, and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Strong negotiation instincts and strategic thinking when facing well-resourced insurance companies
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently while collaborating with a team
  • Experience with legal research tools and case management systems
  • Compassionate communication skills and ability to work with clients facing physical, emotional, and financial challenges

Standout Candidates May Also Have

  • Experience with catastrophic injury or permanent disability cases
  • First-chair trial experience before the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court
  • Knowledge of Social Security Disability, Medicare Set-Asides, and third-party liability claims
  • Understanding of medical terminology and ability to interpret complex medical records
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, or community involvement
  • Experience with appeals to the Nebraska Court of Appeals
