ZA Lawyers is expanding, and we're looking for an experienced California Workers' Compensation Attorney to build and lead our Workers' Compensation practice.

This is not simply another attorney position.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage a full California Applicant Workers' Compensation caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Appear before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, MSCs, and trials.
  • Evaluate and develop litigation strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements.
  • Maintain strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the firm's Personal Injury and Employment Law departments on overlapping matters.
  • Assist in developing workflows, policies, and best practices for the Workers' Compensation Department.
  • Help recruit and mentor future support staff as the department grows.

Qualifications:
  • Active member of the California State Bar.
  • Minimum 7 years of California Applicant Workers' Compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience independently managing a litigation caseload.
  • Strong negotiation and courtroom skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Exceptional client service skills.
  • Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience using case management software is preferred.
