ZA Lawyers is expanding, and we're looking for an experienced California Workers' Compensation Attorney to build and lead our Workers' Compensation practice.This is not simply another attorney position.

What You'll Do:
- Manage a full California Applicant Workers' Compensation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Appear before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
- Conduct depositions, hearings, MSCs, and trials.
- Evaluate and develop litigation strategy.
- Negotiate settlements.
- Maintain strong client relationships.
- Collaborate with the firm's Personal Injury and Employment Law departments on overlapping matters.
- Assist in developing workflows, policies, and best practices for the Workers' Compensation Department.
- Help recruit and mentor future support staff as the department grows.
Qualifications:
- Active member of the California State Bar.
- Minimum 7 years of California Applicant Workers' Compensation experience preferred.
- Experience independently managing a litigation caseload.
- Strong negotiation and courtroom skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Exceptional client service skills.
- Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience using case management software is preferred.
