We focus on redefining business funding, harnessing the deep small business ownership expertise of our management team to deliver fast, flexible capital solutions.As we continue to grow, we're seeking a skilled Senior Litigation Counsel to manage complex legal matters and support our expanding business in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Location: New Hyde Park, NY (In-office position)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM (EST)
Senior Litigation Counsel Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Drafting and preparation of correspondence and legal documents.
- Drafting moving/opposition papers for state and federal court litigation.
- Arguing motions before state and federal courts
- Preparing and supervising discovery for litigation matters
- Attending court appearances and arbitration hearings as necessary.
- Trial practice as necessary
- Conducting judgment debtor examinations and corresponding with merchants, attorneys, banks, and the Courts via phone and email.
- Assessing the likelihood of recovery on defaulted accounts and enforcing judgments through levy, garnishment, and other lawful judicial remedies.
- Finalizing legal documents and filing them with the Courts and Sheriff/Marshals Office, as well as filing UCCs.
- Coordination with local counsel for litigation outside of home jurisdiction.
- A New York State Bar License (required); Federal court admission is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in commercial litigation.
- Proficiency with NYSCEF and comfort with drafting and filing legal documents.
- Experience in answering debtor inquiries and negotiating payments.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- The ability to multitask and thrive in a busy environment.
- A professional demeanor and positive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
