Colonna Cohen Law, PLLC is a boutique commercial litigation firm representing businesses and their owners nationwide in complex disputes involving alternative finance transactions and related commercial matters. Our practice requires a deep understanding of secured transactions, including the interpretation and enforcement of Uniform Commercial Code provisions, as well as the strategic handling of high-stakes litigation from inception through appeal.The ideal candidate is a senior-level litigation attorney who operates with a high degree of autonomy and strategic judgment, and who excels in drafting, advocacy, and complex procedural maneuvering. This attorney must be capable of independently managing all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, oppositions, hearings, appeals, oral arguments, negotiations, and client communications, while also exercising leadership over case strategy and execution. Exceptional writing skills, sharp legal analysis, and deep familiarity with New York Supreme Court practice are required.
This is a fully remote position with primary responsibility for a substantial, high-volume caseload. The candidate must be highly organized, proactive, and able to operate independently with minimal oversight while maintaining a strategic, big-picture approach to each matter. Admission to practice in New York is required. Admission to practice in Florida, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and/or Maryland, in addition to New York, a plus.
Draft, revise, and finalize motions, oppositions, replies, sur-replies; TROs, OSCs, injunction papers; appellate briefs and record preparation; settlement agreements, stipulations, notices; and discovery demands and responses. - Appear (virtually or in person, as required) for conferences, motions, hearings, and oral arguments.
- Manage a litigation docket with multiple deadlines, appearances, and motion schedules, ensuring all matters are proactively advanced.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic guidance, updates, and day-to-day communication.
- Supervise and manage paralegals and support staff, including assigning tasks, reviewing work product, and ensuring efficient workflow and case progression.
- Oversee internal case workflows and systems to maintain organization, accountability, and timely execution across all matters.
- Communicate effectively with opposing counsel, co-counsel, court clerks, arbitrators, and other third parties.
- Analyze contracts, financial statements, fee schedules, and UCC filings.
- Develop and implement litigation and settlement strategies.
- Take ownership of cases and drive them forward with minimal supervision while maintaining a strategic, big-picture approach.
