New York Metro Area law firm with national practice is seeking a skilled and motivated Trial Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our insurance defense team. As a Trial Attorney, you will represent clients in various insurance-related litigation matters, including bodily injury, property damage, and commercial disputes. You will be responsible for managing cases from inception through trial and appeals, with a focus on providing high-quality legal counsel and effective defense strategies. New York Bar required and New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania Bars a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery, motions practice, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Handle cases involving insurance defense, including bodily injury, property damage, subrogation, and fraud.
  • Analyze case facts, prepare legal documents, and develop strategies for defense.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement proposals.
  • Conduct depositions, interrogatories, and witness interviews.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Represent clients at hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Work closely with clients, adjusters, and other professionals to develop and execute case strategies.
  • Stay current with changes in laws and regulations related to insurance defense.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • 5+ years of Trial Experience
  • years of experience in insurance defense or relevant litigation practice.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance law and procedures.
  • Proven ability to handle complex litigation and cases through trial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with high-exposure or complex insurance defense cases.
  • Trial experience with successful outcomes.
  • Familiarity with case management software and legal research tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Type:
Full-time (with hybrid work schedule available)

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $175,000 per year commensurate with experience
