About the role:
The Senior Corporate Attorney, Trade Compliance, reports to the Logisnext Americas General Counsel and leads the Logisnext Americas Trade Department. Responsibilities include the leadership and management of the following for Logisnext Americas Group companies: (1) trade compliance programs; (2) trade-related strategic initiatives; (3) import/export program; (4) FTZ program; (5) CTPAT program; (6) legal / trade service providers; and (7) trade-related training. Other responsibilities of the position include assisting the General Counsel with general compliance and ethics policies and procedures.

What you will do:

• Trade Compliance Program Management: Responsible for leading and managing the Logisnext Americas Trade Department and Trade Compliance Program. This position includes the leadership and management of two (2) direct reports.
• Trade-Related Strategic Initiatives: Responsible for identifying and implementing strategic Trade-related strategic initiatives across Logisnext Americas Group companies. This area of responsibility is increasingly important due to supply chain challenges and the ever-changing regulatory environment.
• Import / Export Management: Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Logisnext Americas Group companies' import and export processes and compliance programs, as well as related training initiatives.
• FTZ Management: Responsible for managing and maintaining Logisnext Americas' existing FTZ locations (Houston, Texas, and Marengo, Illinois). This area of responsibility includes lead communication and interaction with applicable government stakeholders.
• CTPAT Program Management: Responsible for managing and maintaining Logisnext Americas' existing CTPAT Program. This area of responsibility includes lead communication and interaction with applicable government stakeholders.
• Legal / Trade Service Provider Management: Responsible for selecting and managing outside legal and trade compliance service providers. This area of responsibility includes a strong skill set in organizational and budget management.
• Trade Related Training: Responsible for trade-related training of Logisnext Americas Group companies' employees and outside legal and trade compliance service providers.

Qualifications:
What you need to have:

• JD degree from an accredited law school / currently licensed US attorney
• Strong knowledge of trade-related laws and regulations
• Approximately (7-10) years of experience in the leadership of trade compliance
• Excellent leadership and management skill set
• Ability to lead/manage internal staff and outside legal service providers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skill set
• Ability to lead/manage multiple projects in various disciplines concurrently

What would be nice to have:

• Strong knowledge of customs brokerage and related service provider management
• Strong knowledge of Importer Self Assessment Program (including audit & reporting requirements)
• Strong knowledge of import and export compliance (including USMCA, FCPA, CTPAT, & FTZ programs)
