Opportunity | Associate Attorney
A Premier Defense Litigation Law Firm seeks well-rounded, highly-motivated, experienced Associate Attorneys with ten years' civil litigation experience and history of academic success. Must be licensed to practice in Texas courts. Additional court admissions preferred. This is an exceptional opportunity to handle a variety of civil litigation matters, such as personal injury, trucking/auto, commercial construction defect liability, products and premises liability, for nationwide clients with a forward-thinking firm.

  • demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills;
  • ability to move from case to case;
  • knowledge of both state and federal court procedures; and
  • proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and navigating the internet.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include handling a substantial caseload involving personal injury, construction defect liability, trucking/auto, products and premises liability. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to do this job successfully under the direction of a partner:
  • draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders and legal memoranda;
  • draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions;
  • conduct legal research competently and with proficiency;
  • prepare and take depositions of parties and experts;
  • review client documents, draft case evaluations and status report correspondence;
  • assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances;
  • attended informal and formal hearings at the Workers' Compensation Commission; and,
  • interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues and staff.
