An American Law Firm Real Estate Finance Group seeks a staff attorney with a minimum of six years of legal experience in rate hedge agreements to join the practice in the Washington, D.C., Tysons, or Baltimore office.

The qualified candidate is well-versed in documenting interest rate cap and swap agreements required in connection with commercial real estate financings. Responsibilities include drafting rate hedge (cap and swap) agreements and other transactional documents, and managing the flow of information related to hedges among lenders, borrowers, swap dealers, and counsel involved in commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate has at least six years of legal experience working on real estate finance transactions and/or supporting interest rate derivative transactions. A working knowledge of ISDA master agreements and other derivatives trading documentation is a plus. The successful candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, has excellent time management skills, and great attention to detail. Experience managing and training legal staff including paralegals and junior associates preferred. Candidates must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction's bar.
