ArentFox Schiff is seeking a Senior Associate (8th-year class or above), Counsel, or Income Partner to join its Private Clients, Trusts & Estates practice. This position is open to candidates in any ArentFox Schiff office location nationwide.

  • Experience managing client projects from inception to conclusion, including but not limited to, preparing the task list and timeline, holding internal and external team members accountable to timeline, identifying impact of new facts and circumstances on plan and adapting plan as needed, leading the team to project conclusion, identifying ongoing tasks generated by the plan
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of income, fiduciary, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax regimes
  • The willingness to step in on short notice to complete projects to meet client deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client projects and supervise junior attorneys

The attorney filling this position will be working primarily with two partners who are excellent practitioners and who each have active and growing practices. Both partners need additional experienced assistance from someone who can second chair very large matters and also take charge and independently manage other matters. This position is envisioned to include ongoing and extensive work on a number of significant multi-line and multi-generational client matters. This attorney's responsibilities will include advising family offices and closely-held business owners, developing and effectuating sophisticated lifetime and testamentary planning strategies, and being directly active in and supervising others in research and projection of tax implications of planning techniques, preparation of client educational and summary materials, and meeting and communicating directly with clients to advance their goals.

This role is a good fit for someone who wants to pursue a very sophisticated law firm practice within a renowned large, rapidly growing, and very collegial Private Clients Group and develop ongoing relationships with key clients. There will be ample opportunity for the attorney to further develop their own business network and book of client business.

The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $350,000 to a maximum of $500,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus program with opportunities for discretionary incentives that may include productivity, business development, and merit-based components, subject to applicable policies.
