Duties:
- Draft detailed legal documents, including demand letters, case evaluations, and initial pleadings, demonstrating strong legal drafting skills
- Interview clients to gather pertinent facts, medical records, and evidence necessary for case assessment
- Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel to achieve favorable prelitigation resolutions for clients
- Manage case files efficiently within the law office's legal administrative systems, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Collaborate with medical experts, investigators, and other professionals to build compelling cases
- Assist in preparing cases for potential litigation by conducting thorough legal research on applicable statutes, regulations, including tribal law & regulations when relevant
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience in personal injury law or related fields such as workers' compensation law or family law is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients
- Proficiency in legal drafting, writing skills, and case analysis
- Familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and other practice areas is a plus but not required
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
- Prior experience working within a law office environment and managing legal administrative tasks
- Bilingual a plus
