Krentsel Guzman Herbert LLP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Attorney to join our medical malpractice unit. This position offers hands-on litigation experience, direct mentorship from seasoned trial attorneys, and the opportunity to work on high-value, catastrophic injury cases.We are a fast-paced, high-performance plaintiff's firm handling catastrophic injury, wrongful death, COVID-related medical negligence, PFAS litigation, and serious personal injury matters. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing cases from inception through trial preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings, Bills of Particulars, motions, and discovery demands/responses
- Conduct depositions and prepare clients and witnesses
- Review and analyze medical records
- Work closely with medical experts and prepare expert disclosures
- Appear for court conferences (Supreme Court)
- Draft and argue motions
- Assist with mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
- Manage an assigned caseload with attorney oversight
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of litigation experience
- Personal injury experience preferred
- Admitted and in good standing in New York
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Experience drafting substantive motions preferred
- Ability to independently manage deadlines
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
