Description:
Baker Botts L.L.P. is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join our Intellectual Property Department in our New York office. We are looking for a highly motivated associate with 2-4 years of IP litigation experience. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge intellectual property matters within a collaborative and dynamic environment. The ideal applicant will have an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry. Relevant knowledge or experience in semiconductor, battery, or LED technologies is a plus. For positions based in the New York office of Baker Botts L.L.P., the salary range is $235,000 to $310,000.Preferred Qualifications / Experience:
- Experience with all aspects of litigation from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal
- Relevant knowledge or experience in semiconductor, battery, or LED technologies
- Strong writing skills and experience drafting and reviewing legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests
- Experience researching legal and technical issues related to patent claims, prior art, and infringement and invalidity issues
- Experience supporting depositions, hearings, expert reports, and trials
- Strong oral communication skills and experience coordinating with clients, experts, and internal teams to develop case strategies
- Experience with patent drafting, prosecution, and strategy
- Law degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Admitted to practice in New York
- Advanced degree or significant academic, industry, or research experience in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry
- Licensed to practice before the USPTO or qualified to sit for the patent bar
