Responsibilities:

Manage a personal injury caseload from pre-litigation through trial preparation.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, meet and confer correspondence, and other litigation documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
Prepare clients for depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
Attend court hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Develop case strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys.
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy.
Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
Work closely with experts, investigators, and medical providers to develop damages and liability evidence.
Review and analyze medical records, employment records, and other evidence.
Maintain organized and accurate case files while ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, motions in limine, jury instructions, and trial briefs.
Provide exceptional client service and maintain strong attorney-client relationships.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
2–3 years of personal injury litigation experience.
Experience handling written discovery, depositions, law and motion practice, and court appearances.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience attending mediations and settlement conferences.
Experience taking and defending depositions.
Trial preparation experience.
Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure and California Rules of Court.
Experience with e-filing and electronic discovery.
