Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a personal injury caseload from pre-litigation through trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, meet and confer correspondence, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Attend court hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
  • Work closely with experts, investigators, and medical providers to develop damages and liability evidence.
  • Review and analyze medical records, employment records, and other evidence.
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files while ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, motions in limine, jury instructions, and trial briefs.
  • Provide exceptional client service and maintain strong attorney-client relationships.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 2–3 years of personal injury litigation experience.
  • Experience handling written discovery, depositions, law and motion practice, and court appearances.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience attending mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Trial preparation experience.
  • Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure and California Rules of Court.
  • Experience with e-filing and electronic discovery.
