Job Summary:Abgin Law, PC is a growing plaintiff-side personal injury law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to independently manage a litigation caseload from the moment a lawsuit is filed through resolution. We are looking for someone who is proactive, strategic, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling every aspect of litigation with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a litigation caseload from filing through trial or settlement.
- Draft, review, and respond to all pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Take and defend party, witness, and expert depositions.
- Conduct expert discovery, including retaining experts, preparing expert disclosures, and handling expert depositions.
- Prepare for and attend hearings, case management conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, and mediations.
- Meet and confer with opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes and procedural issues.
- Prepare and argue motions, including motions to compel, motions for summary judgment/adjudication, and other pretrial motions.
- Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case value throughout the life of each case.
- Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, trial motions, and coordination with experts.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy.
- Work collaboratively with the firm's pre-litigation team to ensure seamless case transitions.
Qualifications:
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 2 years of California civil litigation experience (personal injury experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience taking and defending depositions.
- Strong motion practice and legal writing skills.
- Experience handling expert discovery and discovery disputes.
- Comfortable appearing independently at hearings and court conferences.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple litigation files while meeting deadlines.
- Trial experience is a significant plus.
