Job Summary:
Sunshine State Law Firm, P.A. is seeking a motivated, driven, and client-focused Personal Injury Associate Attorney with at least one to two years of hands-on experience managing both pre-suit and litigation matters. Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate is ambitious and ready to grow. They must be knowledgeable in moving personal injury cases from initial investigation through settlement or trial preparation. This attorney will be proactive in managing their assigned caseload, developing case strategies, communicating directly with clients, negotiating with insurance carriers, and handling active litigation matters.

Duties:

Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution, including both pre-suit and litigation files.
Investigate claims, evaluate liability and damages, and develop effective case strategies.
Review medical records, medical bills, accident reports, insurance policies, photographs, witness statements, and other evidence.
Monitor clients' medical treatment and work with the legal team to ensure cases progress efficiently.
Prepare and review settlement demand packages and negotiate claims with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel.
Evaluate settlement offers and provide clients with clear, practical advice regarding their options.
Draft and file complaints, answers, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, settlement documents, and other legal filings.
Conduct and defend depositions, including depositions of parties, witnesses, medical providers, and experts.
Attend court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other litigation proceedings.
Prepare cases for trial and participate in trials as appropriate based on experience.
Maintain regular communication with clients and provide timely updates regarding case status and strategy.
Calendar and meet all statutes of limitation, court deadlines, discovery deadlines, and other procedural requirements.
Maintain accurate and complete case-management records.
Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, medical providers, experts, and other professionals.
Assist with additional legal matters and firm initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

At least one year of direct personal injury experience, with two or more years preferred.
Meaningful experience handling both pre-suit claims and cases in active litigation.
Plaintiff-side personal injury experience strongly preferred.
Experience handling motor vehicle accident claims required; experience with premises liability, wrongful death, trucking, or other serious-injury matters is a plus.
Ability to independently evaluate claims, identify legal and factual issues, and develop case strategies.
Working knowledge of personal injury damages, insurance coverage, medical records, liens, and settlement procedures.
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
Strong negotiation, legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Excellent client-service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients during stressful circumstances.
Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize competing deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, organization, judgment, and professional accountability.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the firm's attorneys and support staff.
Proficiency with legal case-management systems and standard office technology.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Active license and good standing with The Florida Bar.
Ability to satisfy applicable background-screening requirements.
