A Real Estate Attorney invites candidates with 2+ years of municipal law experience to apply for a position representing governmental entities in its Los Angeles office.

A Real Estate Attorney's attorneys advise local governments and public agencies throughout Southern California on all aspects of public law, with an emphasis on municipal code enforcement, community preservation, administrative law, land use and other real estate matters. A Real Estate Attorney's attorneys regularly represent approximately 50 cities in both state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level, in matters ranging from nuisance abatement to civil rights. Past litigation experience is highly desirable, but not a requirement.

A successful A Real Estate Attorney attorney will, with appropriate mentoring and training, represent local governments throughout all phases of the litigation process, as well as city staff at city council and other public meetings. As forward-facing representatives of the government and trial attorneys, it is essential that A Real Estate Attorney attorneys have an accessible communications style, self-confidence, and a heightened attention to detail. Candidates must also have excellent academic credentials, current California Bar membership, superior research and writing skills and a commitment to collaboration and teamwork.

Responsibilities in this role include case management from inception through resolution, including development of litigation strategy, discovery, settlement negotiation, trial preparation and trial; law and motion practice at the trial and appellate level, including oral argument; providing diligent and timely counsel city staff and government officials as requested; and engaging in community outreach and education regarding state and local laws and compliance practices.
