Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Military Law Attorney to join our growing team in Washington D.C. This individual will be responsible for handling a wide range of legal issues that affect military personnel, including criminal defense, administrative procedures, and veterans' benefits. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of military law, a passion for justice, and a commitment to providing comprehensive and compassionate legal advocacy.

Alternatively, candidates may also have Security Clearance experience dealing with military members, federal employees, defense contractors, and administrative law experience before the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals. This experience would include SF86 and SF85 document preparation and review, formulation of responses to Statement of Reasons, adjudication, hearings, and appeals before DOHA and other intelligence adjudicative agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal representation to clients in courts-martial, administrative boards, discharge upgrades and other military tribunals.
  • Advise military personnel on legal rights and obligations related to service.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of military appeals and petitions for relief.
  • Represent clients in matters concerning veterans' benefits, including appeals in front of the VA (Veterans Administration).
  • Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated with developments in military law and associated civilian legal impacts.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff within the firm to ensure a cohesive approach to client cases.
  • Educate and counsel clients on preventative measures to avoid legal issues related to military service.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in at least one US State Jurisdiction.
  • Prior experience in military law or a strong interest and dedication to practicing in this area.
  • Military service or familiarity with the military environment is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong advocacy and courtroom skills, with a track record of ethical practice.
