A Law Firm Handling Corporate and Technology Matters, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Litigation Staff Attorney to join the Business Trial Team in Houston.Litigation has been a core part of A Law Firm Handling Corporate and Technology Matters practice since 1927. Our Litigation Practice today consist of approximately 250 attorneys nationwide. Sheppard Mullin litigators possess exceptional trial and appellate skills, in-depth knowledge of state and federal courts at all levels, and practical business judgement, all of which contribute to our consistent delivery of cost-effective results. Our Litigation Practice involves all aspects of business and commercial litigation, including antitrust, creditors' rights, banking and financial institutions, construction, communications, general business, insurance, intellectual property, products liability, professional liability defense, real estate, environmental, securities, white collar criminal defense, and trust and estate litigation.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting research and preparing legal research memos, deposition preparation, document review, drafting discovery for client matters, answering discovery, preparing correspondence to opposing counsel, preparing motions and pleadings, and participating in case strategy and handling of cases. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Active member of Texas bar in good standing
- 1-6 years of litigation experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professional manner for client interactions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
