$105,000.00 To $175,000.00 Annually

Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad invites an experienced Litigation Attorney to join the New Jersey/New York Subrogation Division of its nationally recognized litigation practice. This role is ideal for a litigator who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at managing substantial caseloads, and seeks the opportunity to work on complex property damage subrogation matters within a supportive remote-first structure.

Role Scope & Core Responsibilities:
This position offers the chance to build deep litigation experience while handling a significant and intellectually challenging caseload. Responsibilities include:
  • Managing a case load of approximately one hundred of active files involving property damage losses ranging from several thousand to millions
  • Leading discovery strategy, motion practice, depositions, and mediations as primary counsel
  • Crafting recovery strategies, evaluating liability and damages, and identifying paths to optimal resolution
  • Coordinating with clients, experts, and opposing counsel to move each case forward efficiently and strategically
  • Preparing for and attending hearings and trials

Qualifications & Professional Capabilities:

  • Minimum 5 years of litigation experience
  • 20 or more depositions and 5 or more mediations as lead attorney
  • New Jersey and New York Bar licenses required
  • Experience in subrogation, plaintiff products liability, or plaintiff personal injury enhances success in this role
  • Experience crafting, refining, and optimizing prompts to generate high-quality briefs, memos, deposition outlines, and discovery responses using LLM platforms (i.e., ChatGPT)
