Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri?This position serves Missourians by providing legal counsel to the Department on a wide range of issues including compliance and enforcement of Missouri's insurance laws and regulations. This legal work assists the Department in protecting consumers and ensuring a level playing field for insurance companies.
Responsibilities - What you'll do
- Represent the Department at administrative hearings and in court proceedings.
- Prepare pleadings and documents related to assigned cases.
- Draft orders, legal memoranda, and other documents necessary to the operation of the Department.
- Assist in the investigation of licensees and prosecute licensing actions.
- Draft, edit, and/or summarize proposed legislation and regulations related to insurance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Graduation from an accredited law school and membership with good standing in the Missouri Bar.
