Position Overview:The Department of Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, and Law at the University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business invites applications for the appointment of Lecturer in Business Law starting in Fall 2025. The lecturer will teach four business courses per semester, advise students, and provide service to the Department of Finance Insurance, Real Estate, and Law. Teaching will be at the Denton main campus using both face-to-face and online modalities. Course assignment will be based on the needs of the department, but typically include the Legal Environment of Business, International Business Law, Corporation Law, Law for Accountants and Managers, and Law for Managers and Entrepreneurs.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school combined with substantial professional experience in business law to meet AACSB instructional practitioner standards. The successful candidate must demonstrate expertise across multiple business law areas including legal environment of business, international business law, corporation law, and specialized law courses for accountants, managers, and entrepreneurs.
Essential skills include effective teaching abilities for both face-to-face and online delivery, student advising capabilities, and commitment to departmental service. The role demands adaptability to teach four courses per semester using various modalities and platforms like Canvas or Blackboard.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include prior university-level teaching experience with positive evaluations, familiarity with online learning platforms, and an MBA alongside the J.D. The ability to conduct applied or pedagogical research would enhance the candidate's profile for this comprehensive teaching-focused position. JD and MBA
Required License/Registration/Certifications
