An Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business Litigation Law Firm has an immediate opening in our Baltimore office for an attorney with at least 5 years' experience in Labor and Employment Law representing management. Qualified candidates must be barred in MD. We are looking for candidates that have substantial experience representing employers in a wide range of employment matters. Candidates with a portable book of business is a positive and are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice to employers on employment laws, regulations, and compliance issues.
  • Handle employment related discrimination claims, wrongful termination, compliance issues, management labor issues, affirmative action obligations, draft affirmative action plans, wage and hour matters, OSHA/MOSH actions, Title VII matters, and related federal, state, and local employment matters.
  • Lead negotiations and mediations as well as represent client employment interests in federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration proceedings. Jury trial experience in federal and state courts.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients, offering clear and concise legal guidance.
  • Maintain active communication with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.
  • Advise clients on labor relations matters, including occasional union negotiations and labor disputes.
  • Have working knowledge of NLRB rules and regulations.
  • The ideal candidate's focus will be Labor and Employment.

Requirements:
  • Active membership and in good standing with the MD State Bar.
  • Litigation experience is a must.
  • 5 years' experience practicing labor and employment law with a focus on employer representation in the private sector (PREFERRED).
  • Experience handling employment related litigation and providing legal counsel to employers.
  • Solid experience handling depositions, arbitrations, and trials related to employment law.
  • Candidates should possess strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing and communication skills and have the ability to work independently.
  • The position requires the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, handle a high volume of cases and the ability to foster client relationships.
  • The desired candidate will be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and work collaboratively within a team.
