Davis Wright Tremaine LLP seeks a midlevel associate with four to six years of experience to join its robust Labor, Employment & Immigration practice in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Anchorage. The associate will work closely with a collaborative team of attorneys representing employers in a broad range of traditional labor matters and workplace disputes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to build a sophisticated labor practice with significant client contact and hands-on responsibility.Responsibilities:
- Advise and represent employers in labor relations matters, including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, unfair labor practice charges, and labor-management disputes
- Support clients in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
- Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and other advocacy materials
- Participate in client counseling on labor and employment compliance issues
- Collaborate with teams across offices and practice groups on complex workplace matters
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and practical legal guidance
- Contribute to business development initiatives, client alerts, and thought leadership opportunities
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction
- Four to six years of relevant labor and employment experience at a law firm, government agency, or comparable legal environment
- Experience handling traditional labor matters and advising employers on labor relations issues
- Prior experience with the NLRB
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced practice
