Job Summary:
Flora Legal Group is an Indianapolis-based immigration firm committed to serving the immigrant community. We are seeking an entry-level Associate Immigration Attorney to represent clients in deportation defense and removal proceedings before the immigration court. This position is ideal for recent law school graduates who have passed the bar and are eager to gain meaningful litigation and courtroom experience. We are looking for a motivated attorney with strong communication skills, a desire to learn, and a genuine commitment to serving immigrant communities.

No prior immigration or litigation experience is required. We provide hands-on training, mentorship, and direct exposure to hearings and client advocacy within a fast-paced, litigation-heavy, client-centered practice. Fluency in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represents clients in immigration proceedings before the Immigration Court;
  • Prepares for and attends hearing preparation appointments with clients;
  • Communicates with clients regarding case processing and procedural issues;
  • Collaborates with senior attorneys to develop legal strategy for assigned cases;
  • Reviews and assists in drafting legal documents and filings;
  • Analyzes and evaluates key immigration legal issues;
  • Provides support for client consults as needed;
  • Enters information in case management software to include notes, client correspondence, hours utilized, and matter updates;
  • Time tracks hours worked in accordance with the firm's time tracking policy.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing to apply; Juris Doctorate required;
  • At least 2+ years of litigation/prosecution experience preferred but not required;
  • Strong interest in learning immigration law;
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large case load;
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred but not required (reading, writing, speaking);
  • Have excellent communication skills and enjoy helping underserved populations;
  • Be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and possess a strong work ethic;
  • Enjoy continuous learning in a fast-paced and friendly work environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
