Description:

Intellectual Property (IP) Legal Interns work under the supervision of an attorney and attend law school in the evening. Responsibilities include drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and supporting IP due diligences, patent landscape analyses, patent litigations, post-grant proceedings (IPR, PGR, interferences) and other IP matters related to small molecule pharmaceuticals. The position requires an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred, or M.S. with several years industry experience) in chemistry, with a strong emphasis in organic or medicinal chemistry. Must have experience researching, writing and reading scientific publications in a relevant area. Additionally, candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, superior academic background and a desire for teamwork, significant responsibility and client interaction. Those who have already been accepted to law school (local part-time evening programs only) and/or are registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office are strongly preferred.
