About the role:Miller, Leiby & Associates, P.C. is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Litigation Associate to join their team in New York, NY. Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Conduct depositions, examinations before trial (EBTs), and witness interviews
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and oral arguments
- Investigate claims, analyze coverage issues, and develop litigation strategies
- Communicate regularly with insurance carrier clients regarding case status and strategy
- Negotiate settlements and assist in trial preparation
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the New York State Bar
- 2+ years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or related practice area
- Familiarity with New York court procedures and civil practice
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience with depositions, motion practice, and discovery preferred
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple deadlines
