About the role:- Insurance Defense Attorney
- Flanagan, Barone & O'brien, Llc (“fbo”) is a successful, growing firm which embraces
- diversity in seeking to build a strong team of professionals. FBO is currently seeking a Litigation Insurance
- Defense Attorney with 5-7 years of trial experience. The position provides a flexible schedule and the
- opportunity to work both independently and as part of our strong litigation team.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of insurance defense matters (auto, general liability, construction, products
- liability and property damage matters) up to and through trial, including discovery, court
- appearances, depositions/examinations under oath, expert issues, and client management
- Communicate with clients, experts, witnesses to prepare for and complete trial testimony
- Drafting pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery, required client reports
- Render opinions on liability, damages and case value
- Appear before courts and arbitrators/mediators
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to NJ Bar
- Must have completed at least five (5) civil trials
- 5-7 years previous experience in litigation with one or two first bench trials
- Experience with insurance defense, general liability and construction litigation
- Ability to integrate into a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to maintain/enter billable time
- Ability to prioritize assignments and case load with trial schedule
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Candidate must have a flexible schedule and demonstrate a commitment to providing quality client
- service and adherence to work completion deadlines.
- Candidate must be a member in good standing with the New Jersey Bar and be able to travel as required
- for trials, hearings, depositions, etc.
